Bryan McClure epitomizes the boy-next-door and was raised in the “Heartland of America” in Council Bluffs, Iowa. However, he is the newest Hollywood discovery story, too, with is recent lead role in the feature length romantic comedy In Other Words now airing on HBO Max.

In addition to In Other Words, the blue-green eyed, brown haired McClure recurred in several episodes of the hit Netflix series Mindhunter and was literally chosen from a global talent search for Space Command, the sci-fi series created by acclaimed TV writer/producer, Marc Zicree (Sliders and Star Trek: The Next Generation).  McClure was chosen from the over 7000 email inquiries and thousands of video auditions that were submitted to Zicree.

Other memorable acting gigs from his past include: working on Doom Patrol, Takashi Doscher’s first feature film Still, working with Tom Arnold in the film, April Showers, a guest-starring role on the new “Hawaii Five-O” and working with Colin Hanks in Lucky.

McClure explains, “My favorite part of being an Actor is that amazing feeling when you are so lost in the scene that you aren’t even quite sure what happened when you come out of it.  I also really love the collaborative-ness of filmmaking. So many different talents working together to create a bigger vision.”

Acting was not always on McClure’s radar.  He continues, “I grew up wanting to be a pro basketball player, so I spent a lot of time doing that.  I am a big fan of playing the sport, as well as a huge fan of the legendary Michael Jordan.”  McClure is an equally big fan of the arts– painting, music, and filmmaking.  He also holds a First Degree Black Belt in Taekwando.

With double dimples and an infectious smile, McClure is quickly becoming a fan favorite.  His handsome good looks also resemble film favorites like Kevin Bacon, Matt Damon, Michael J. Fox and Jim Carrey, all four of whom he has been likened to by fans since his move to Hollywood and his start in the entertainment industry.

Spirituality and sound advice rooted in McClure’s real-life family ties have solidified McClure’s viewpoint on stardom:  “I got into this business because I believe God called me to it. Unlike many actors in this business, I did not grow up acting. However, I always had a fascination and have been involved with the arts. I remember being an extra back in Omaha, NE on the set of a film called Lovely Still starring Ellen Burstyn and Martin Landau; I remember feeling this intense feeling of excitement about what I was pursuing as an actor, and I felt that God wanted me to pursue it full time,” smiles McClure.

The All-American persona is a moniker that McClure enjoys and embodies. He is very proud of his Mid-western roots, saying, “I graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs and was the valedictorian of my class. I was even voted Prom King and most likely to be an artist. I was also winner of the Senior Art Student of the Year award.”

McClure received a bachelors of Arts in Graphic Design from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Upon graduation, he also received the Senior Graphic Design Student of the year award. He began his MFA degree in Computer Arts & New Media at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, though he put that on hold to pursue Acting.  A wise choice indeed.
