I know I know…

I know I know…

So, I know, I am terrible about updating my website, but I am going to try to give you a rundown of the last few months…whew…where to start…

I’ll start with my classes. I am not only continuing with my Meisner study, but I am also currently taking improv classes at iO West. It is about time I started getting my goofy on and getting myself into some comedy classes. I was born to be a goofball, so its just natural for me to act that way 🙂 The combination of Meisner training at the William Alderson Acting studio, and comedy/improv training I’m receiving at iO West is really helping me to develop both sides of my acting career. Meisner helps me to really get in touch with the things that really move me deeply and cause real human behavior. We actually try to do as little “acting” as possible in the class and instead try to behave with real emotion. iO West is based in reality, because they say that comedy is truth as well, but you do get to be more over the top in comedy, especially with the characters that you create. Both are great and I really look forward to both of the classes. Wish the Meisner class, it is a 2 year program and I am nearly finished with the 2nd years in about 4 or 5 months.

Moving right along, websites! Momentum Creative Studios, my design company, has been extremely busy over the last several months, have worked on 6 websites during the month of December alone. Business is booming and going great, so if you or anyone you know is in need of some professional quality web design or graphic design, please look me up.

In the month of November, I was able to make a really great connection with a gentleman by the name of Jim White.  Jim has currently released a book called “The World is a Safe place”. Check out his site.  The books goal is to open up a dialogue to create change.

Jim met my wonderful mother in Omaha, NE at one of his book signings. My mom, being the social butterfly that she is, got to talking with Jim and, as it turns out, he is the V.P. of Human Resources at Paramount in Los Angeles.  Through their conversation, Jim gave my mom his email and told her to have me contact him.  I did just that and we exchanged a few emails.

Then, a few weeks after we had initiated contact via the web, I had an audition on Paramounts lot.  After my audition, I decided that I was going to walk around and see if I could find Jim’s Office 🙂 Some times, you just have to be bold (me and my Actor’s Network Buddy’s slogan for the year is “To Infinity and Beyond”…I made it up 🙂 )! So after asking people if they could direct me to HR, I bobbed and weaved my way around the studio until I landed at Jim’s office door. It turns out that his office is the original office of the Founders of Paramount. The whole room is lined with old fashioned wood paneled walls. Very cool!  So right as I walked in the door, a gentleman was walking passed the door. I say, “Are you Jim?” and the gentleman says, “Who’s asking? FBI?” and gives me a smile. I introduce myself and he remembers my mom and the emails we have exchanged and invites me in. He and I chat in his office for about 30 minutes 🙂  Jim and I are now friends and I even referred him as a guest to the Nebraska Coast Connection meetings (don’t worry, I am in the process of redesigning this site) as he is actually from Carter Lake, IA (which is geographically located in Nebraska…don’t ask). Jim is a great guy and genuinely concerned with making a difference. He gives of his free time to help raise money to get homeless people off the streets and back on their feet.  I’m fortunate to meet him.

Let’s talk a little bit about some of the gigs I’ve acted in lately, shall we?  In November and December, I acted in a play called “The One Night Stands One Acts”. It was a comedy and a really fun experience.  Written and Directed by Paul Storiale. I also acted in a short film called “Death Inc.”, which is a comedy. I played two characters in that, a ghostly apparition walking towards the light, as well as a surgeon. That was created by Sandra Payne and we had a great time on set, which happened to be in a big warehouse, where they film the show, “I Didn’t Know I was Pregnant”. Lastly, I was contacted via on online profile of mine on the site Model Mayhem by the talented artist Marie Parie. She asked me to come act in a Music Video titled “Dating” that weekend.  I didn’t know what to expect getting contacted out of the blue like that, but man, the shoot was totally awesome! I got to play 2 characters, one of which gets to be Marie’s love interest and the other…well, he gets to be awesome.  Can you guess which of the two photos is which?

The music video for “Dating” is being released on February 14th. Check it out!

Since I have been back from a lovely holiday stay back home with my family, I have been quite busy. I have been blessed with some fantastic auditions and some great web projects! I have come into this year hitting the ground running. I have set some great goals that I will work hard towards achieving.

I hope to be able to keep you all update more regularly with smaller, but informative posts.  Please stay tuned and up to date by signing up for my new email newsletter.

Until next time…”to infinity and beyond”!

Often times it takes awhile for things to get edited, but I will keep folks posted.

In the last couple days, I found out that the film I acted in called “Chance of Showers” will be screening at the Omaha Film Festival! So that is exciting!
